Long Term Objectives

Background & Establishment

Founded in 2006 with strong community support and Japanese assistance, GRACE Public School Skardu is a pioneering model of inclusive, affordable education in Gilgit-Baltistan. Built on donated land and expanded through international grants, the school originally began with six classrooms and basic facilities.

Inclusive & Quality Education

Today, the school provides disability-inclusive, gender-responsive education to nearly 500 students, most from marginalized families and internally displaced communities. Over 1,000 students have graduated from primary to secondary levels, reflecting the school’s strong learning environment and high retention rates.

Infrastructure & Learning Facilities

Over the years, GRACE added a library, computer lab, science lab, and additional classrooms, transforming the school into a full secondary setup. It also functions as a Grassroots Community Development Center (GCDC) supporting community events, training, and development initiatives.

Impact & Community Change

In a region where girls’ education was once resisted, GRACE Public School stands as a symbol of transformation. Its sustained impact demonstrates how inclusive schooling, strong governance, and community partnerships can break generational barriers and empower future leaders.
