GRACE PUBLIC SCHOOL ASTANA SKARDU

DETAILS ABOUT OUR SCHOOL

HISTORY
The school opened in April 2007 with 32 children. We spent two terms in temporary accommodation in a very old home and moved into our custom made new building in April 2009.
Our school building is custom made and barriers free for children with disabilities and females. We are thankful to our coordinating partner: Himalayan Green Club Japan and People pf Japan for their generous support to construct a beautiful school building in Astana Skardu. This is the first earthquake proof building designed and constructed ever in Gilgit Baltistan.
Our new school building comprises 5 separate classrooms, a library, a hall junior groups and a lab corner for science, art and cookery.
There is a multipurpose hall and an office for administrative sections. We have asphalt and soft play areas all around the fruit trees and green beautiful garden of local communities between the high mountain series of Himalayas and Karakuram. A games court is in front of the school building. Our staff, students and parents are very active in developing the school grounds.
As we are a new school we are collecting very latest educational equipment, furniture and resources.
