English Access Microscholarship Program, Skardu
GRACE and US Embassy Islamabad signed the English Access Microscholarship Program Grant Agreement
Grace Association Pakistan is pleased for being accepted as one of the service providers for the 2010-2012 of English Access Microscholarship Program, sponsored by the United States Department of State, at Grace Public School Skardu.
Responding to the growing demand for English language in international and national communication, Grace Association Pakistan will implement a 2-year Access Program which is the Public Affairs funded secondary school English language scholarship program, in underprivileged rural and urban areas of Gilgit Baltistan.
The Chief Executive, Grace Association Pakistan Mr. Khadim Hussain and Mr. Larry Schwartz, Public Affairs Officer, U.S. Embassy Islamabad, Pakistan, signed an agreement on Tuesday, April 6, 2010 to run the English ACCESS Microscholarship Program at Grace Public School Skardu for the next two years. The goal of the program is to prepare bright students in both written and spoken English, so that they can more easily integrate into the global marketplace and have access to the world.
Program Implementation
. Shamshad Hussain, Grace Association Pakistan Program Coordinator, will be the ACCESS Coordinator for this program. The program will be run at GRACE Public School, Skardu for 80 students (40 male and 40 females) 14-16 year old adolescents. Students will be streamed into separate English Access classes. These classes will be held after normal school hours. Four qualified instructors have been hired and they will be responsible to deliver and manage these classes for a two-year period.

• Project implementation
• English language teaching program
• Enhancement activities program
• Personal development program
• Monitoring, evaluation, support, coordination and reporting activities would be ongoing
April 2012:
• Project consolidation and closure
• Course completion and graduation
• Final project report and financial report
• Impact assessment report
Self-Enhancement and Career Progression Activities
The following activities will be included in the Program for the self-enhancement and career progression of the students:
• Comprehension
• Reading
• Writing
• Conversation
• Improving Spell Vocabulary + Spelling Bee Competition
• Improving Handwriting
• Test Preparation
• Essay Competition
Certificate of award and completion
On successful participation of the two years ACCESS Program, we will present Certificate of Award, signed by the U. S. Ambassador to Pakistan, to the students at the commencement of the English Access Microscholarship Program and also at the successful completion of the two-year Program.
